Amin Mal — A Canadian Success Story
In 2020, Amin Mal arrived in Halifax as an international student. He enrolled at Halifax West High School, then pursued Business Administration at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), graduating in June 2023. Just months after graduation, he followed his entrepreneurial vision and opened Bismillah Butchery and Deli in Halifax.
Amin’s journey—from a young immigrant student to the founder of the largest halal meat supply operation in Nova Scotia—is a true Canadian success story. Drawing on his experience in sales, sustainable energy programs with the Province of Nova Scotia, and financial services with CIBC and Kanata Payments, he built a business that now powers the halal food ecosystem across the province.
After overcoming numerous challenges with investors and business hurdles, Mohamed has now fully taken over BBD Meat Brokers, establishing himself as the sole owner and visionary behind the brand.
